About
“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.”
Benjamin Franklin DeenFit interactive presentations provide an engaging, fun and effective Islamic learning experience for youth. “Out of the Box” Islamic Youth Programs and presentations bring Islamic learning to life by fully engaging the audience in a unique style of teaching that makes learning the Deen an enjoyable and memorable experience. Islam is practical and applicable to every aspect of our lives. It is important to learn and understand our Deen in way that provides tangible and practical ways to manifest what we learn in our daily life. The best way to describe DeenFit objective , its model and what it strive to output is from Al-Quran Al-Kareem: "O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm for Allah , witnesses in justice, and do not let the hatred of a people prevent you from being just. Be just; that is nearer to righteousness. And fear Allah ; indeed, Allah is Acquainted with what you do" [Translation of the meaning Al-Maidah 5:8]
In addition to presentations, the DeenFit educational curriculum development is about the relevant, natural and organic connection between life and the deen. It is not just about information and what you know but what to do with the information and how to put what you know into practice. For more detail and booking contact us. |

"Br. Hootan’s lecture style is on another level. I had the distinct privilege of working alongside Br. Hootan and witness the creative genius for myself. He is a dedicated and innovative educator with a sincere desire to teach. His well thought out lectures and 4D teaching models enable students to receive and process information according to their abilities allowing them to understand and retain knowledge. Years later, I find myself reflecting on examples he gave in lectures and continue to learn from them. I count myself lucky to have had the opportunity to learn from him and credit him for broadening my horizons as a student and as an educator."

"If I could use one to describe Br. Hootan’s teaching experience, it would be phenomenal. I have been in his classes for 5 years now and every class is not just a session, it is an experience. Br. Hootan will use props like fruit shakes, baby chickens, to lamb hearts just to teach his class.
With so much effort and heart poured into his sessions it is hard not to be impressed. If Br. Hootan is offering a course, this an opportunity that you cannot miss! It literally can change your life and you will learn something for sure. 10/10 would learn again from Br. Hootan."

"I have had the great pleasure of having Br. Hootan not only as a teacher but also as a mentor and an individual to truly look up to. Br. Hootan was one of my teachers when I was attending youth group at the Islamic Center of San Gabriel Valley Masjid and his lectures and talks were not only informative but also transformative. The lectures he gave in class equipped myself as well as the other students with practical tools to navigate the social issues we face especially as young Muslims in America.
The knowledge I gained from his lectures did not only help me understand my deen but to understand my identity as a Muslim and has added to my overall growth as a Muslim. What myself as well as the other students truly appreciated and still appreciate about Br. Hootan’s unique and artistic teaching tactics are that he does not merely pass on information, he ensures that his audience have an incredible experience while learning which makes his lectures very memorable and impactful. Even till today I try to always attend a presentation or lecture that Br. Hootan has and it is always memorable, inspiring and very enjoyable. I have the confidence in myself as a Muslim today because of teachers like Br. Hootan who’s passion, love and devotion to Islam has inspired me to continue learning more about my deen. I hope to continue to hear more lectures and presentations from Br. Hootan and to gain more knowledge from him." "Very few counselors capture the eye of the audience, and Br. Hootan definitely is one of them. His approach to class is unlike any other, he relates to the youth with captivating, interactive, and detailed lectures. I've yet to see another speaker that can relate to both the intellectual and the hands on learners. Br. Hootan's classes had a design, which allowed him to transform boring lectures, into ones that we can participate in as well as learn and comprehend. Students with all types of learning styles can say that they've learned from Br. Hootan."

"I remember the days when we were told that Brother Hootan would teach the class. I would be filled with excitement because his teaching style was different than other teachers were we would lose attention quickly. Brother Hootan has a very distinct and interesting way of teaching, one that keeps you engaged and on your toes because you don't know what to expect. Brother Hootan was one of those people that you looked up to and could ask him for help, whether it be a big or small task he gave it his all.

"When I was in our masjid's youth group, I remember the entire class getting excited when we realized that Brother Hootan would be teaching for that day. Each class was a series of activities, open forums, and videos/other media that built up to a larger lesson. At the end of each class, we would all need a few minutes to collect our thoughts and really absorb that day's class because his lessons were so thought provoking. I cried, brought home a pet chicken, and always grew more confident as a Muslim youth living in America."

"Brother Hootan has been a lifetime teacher of mine. I would like to express the different dimensions of teaching that Brother Hootan Afzali provided me. He has taught me everything from martial arts to Hadith, tafseer, philosophy and more. He has a unique method of teaching which is extremely exciting. Being a university MSA Vice President, and being an involved member in the community, I can tell you that he is a very cool individual. His creative way of teaching keeps youth attentive and entertained. He was once giving a lecture on tafseer of the Surah Al-Nahla. And he was giving us a scientific presentation on the bee, and he brought in all kinds of raw organic unfiltered honey which has so many health and healing properties. Another lecture he set our entire room up to look like we were in the desert and approaching his nomadic tent. He has worn a lab coat and done science experiments in class. He has made us smoothies in a lecture. He brings a unique experience every class. And no class is the same with him" - Ali Parekh
"Alhumdullilah the program was a great success. Br. Hootan had a creative way to allow the students to stay focus. He started with a colorful power point presentation consisting of funny pictures and Quranic verses. Alongside his power point presentation he had activities for the kids that allowed them to stay awake for the hour. After each activity the questions that Br. Hootan would ask allowed the students to grasp the objective behind each activity. The program allowed the students to understand how it’s important to have patience not only in Islam, but also in day to day activities.
Overall the presentation was truly amazing and the students enjoyed it. Implementing these programs will not only be entertaining, but also educational. Having guest speakers allows the students to gain understanding from a different perspective as well as enjoy activities with the rest of the school.I enjoyed being able to learn and experience this program."
